KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Communications Specialist will serve as an administrator and content creator for all WSH intranet and social media (non-marketing) properties. You will utilize your talent as a designer to proactively create and deliver content focused on showcasing employee success and improving the employee experience at West Shore Home. You will be expected to stay current on WSH news of note and develop effective means of showcasing that news companywide to ensure maximum awareness among employees and promotes employee engagement. In this role, you will support the Executive team and Training team communication needs by creating presentations, formatting training manuals and branding upcoming company-wide initiatives. You will support Human Resources & Recruiting by developing flyers, formatting company documents, and designing recruiting ads.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
The Communications Specialist will be responsible for improving the systems and processes used to deliver information to employees across the business, keeping an emphasis on using visual mediums. You will be tasked with refining the aesthetic and messaging surrounding our internal brand to appropriately showcase the scale of the business and the success of our employees. As the Communications Specialist, you will own the narrative and the company story through multimedia in a way that encourages employee growth and promotes our core values.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Exempt role with standard hours from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.
- May require travel up to 10%.
- Must be able to sit and use office equipment (computer, mouse, phone, etc.) for extended periods of time.
MINIMUM ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency working in the Adobe Creative Suite, most specifically with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- 3+ years’ experience creating graphic content professionally
- Ability to showcase a portfolio of past creative work
- Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced setting
- Desire to understand and embrace West Shore Home’s culture and values
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Be service and quality oriented with attention to detail
