Organizational Position
As the Director of Internal Communication, you will report to the Chief Development Officer and work closely with every department throughout the company.
Key Role Accountabilities
You will serve as the primary administrator and content creator for all West Shore Home intranet and social media (non-marketing) properties. You will work to develop and deliver content utilizing a variety of available formats, to include but not limited to text, image, audio, and video. You must stay current on all West Shore Home news to develop effective communication strategies for team members across all regions. You will provide support to the executive team’s communication needs by formatting, editing, delivering, and occasionally drafting specific communiques. Your ability to help create and deliver content will be critical to help link the corporate vision to all employees at West Shore Home.
You will act as a main contributor to facilitate high rates of employee engagement throughout the company. You must propose creative and interactive solutions that will help increase engagement from all employees throughout West Shore Home. You must monitor the intranet and social media engagement to develop KPIs and understand trends. You must then develop plans to improve based upon the data that was collected. By driving employee engagement within the company, you are providing a work environment that will allow the company to reach its lofty goals. You will be directly involved in supporting the growth of the brand and company by your efforts to drive engagement and centralize corporate communications.
You will provide support to the HR and recruiting teams by developing flyers, videos, training materials, and other requested items as needed. You will support the entire organizational development team by developing flyers, videos, training materials and other items as needed to help with companywide initiatives. You are expected to provide cross functional support to all other departments as available based on your workload at the time. Your ability to provide support to other teammates and departments will be critical to the overall success of West Shore Home. Your support of the internal departmental communication needs will be critical to ensure brand continuity and allow for the standardization of future organizational growth.
You will serve as project manager for the communications team ensuring all projects are completed according to scope and scheduling; this will require you to build relationships and communicate on a regular basis with department heads and executives throughout the company. To effectively develop a robust internal communication team workflow, you must develop an intake system that meets the needs of the business while ensuring your team can handle the volume of tasks. As the director of internal communication, you will own the brand; you must work tirelessly to ensure all departments follow brand guidelines and meet the standards of the company. You will be responsible for building and owning an internal communication system that delivers business critical information in an effective manner to all employees from the front-line up to the executive level. You must have the ability to think strategically and ensure all content being produced aligns with the brand and provides information in the most effective medium possible. You will be responsible for ensuring the internal brand aligns with the external, national brand; to do so, you must collaborate heavily with the marketing team to ensure brand continuity across all internal and external communication channels.

You must take ownership of all communication mediums and ensure that everything being broadcasted for employee consumption is developed to the highest possible standards. You should be aggressive in your approach to developing content that will directly impact the overall effectiveness of the business. When you are communication to the company, you must ensure that you are doing the right thing and displaying the proper message at all times. You will need to work to the best of your ability and develop the very best content possible, while working to improve your craft every day. You must be an exceptional teammate to everyone because the success of companywide initiatives will often depend on your effective communication of the material.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Exempt role with standard hours from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.
- May require travel up to 10% of the time.
- Must be able to sit and use office equipment (computer, mouse, phone, etc.) for extended periods of time.
Minimum Role Requirements
- Proficiency in a wide variety of communication and media formats including written, photography and image editing, film and videography, and audio recording.
- Understands and embraces WSH culture and values.

- Strong project management skills.
- Prior experience developing content for mass consumption is highly preferred.
