As an Inventory Purchasing Specialist, you will report to Inventory Purchasing Manager and be a part of the IMS Team. This role will work closely with multiple departments including the Inventory Department, Warehouse Managers, Operations Admins and Inside Operations.
Key Role Accountabilities
As an Inventory Purchasing Specialist, you will receive product requirements from Warehouse Managers, Install Managers, General Managers, and other regional support staff and assign that request a purchase order number and process the orders in accordance with department SOP’s. Making sure all pertinent information is filled out in Salesforce prior to the material arriving at the warehouse will be key in ensuring proper / on time receiving can be executed. The Inventory Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for following up with vendors to ensure paperwork and material deliveries are on time. As an Inventory Purchasing Specialist you will assist or advise regional staff when asked regarding custom products and complete necessary administrative tasks as assigned by IMS team.
What Success Looks Like
As a successful Inventory Purchasing Specialist, you will be able to support the growth and revenue targets of each of the regions by filling their warehouse with all material needed to perform installation so they can be successful. Properly creating purchase orders, documenting all ordered material with accurate pricing will ensure proper reporting of all warehouse expenditures. By following each of the processes and refusing to take shortcuts you will ensure all material requests are ordered daily.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Non-Exempt role with standard hours from 7:00 to 3:30
- Overtime is common in this role.
- No travel required for this position.
- Must be able to sit and use office equipment (computer, mouse, phone, etc.) for extended periods of time.
Minimum Role Requirements
- Computer and analytical skills
- 1 year purchasing experience
- Construction experience a plus, but not required.
