KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
As a paralegal, you will aid our in-house attorneys in all aspects of litigation, including both propounding and answering discovery requests, case preparation, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. You will be required to organize and maintain a large volume of case files and documents and maintain an internal docketing system. Your support will allow our attorneys to handle a large volume of legal matters throughout the company. You will also need to determine filing requirements and execute filings with courts and federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. These administrative tasks are critical to ensure the success of our legal department.
You will need to draft basic legal correspondence and documents. You will review and outline depositions, indices, and summarize legal documents. You will participate in interviews of parties, witnesses, and experts while providing assistance with interview memos, written statements, and/or affidavits. Your support will provide valuable time for our attorneys to prepare and focus on the legal matters within the company.
You will perform assigned legal research tasks using Westlaw, Lexis/Nexis, and other software or resources as need. You will proofread and revise legal documents. You will review and analyze matters for the purpose of preparing status reports to attorneys and management. You will also enter contracts into a contract management system and manage notifications, terminations, expirations, and renewals. Your assistance and support will be instrumental in allowing the legal team to fulfill their duties and ensure the long-term success of West Shore Home.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Exempt role with standard hours from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.
- There is no travel required for this position.
- Must be able to sit and use office equipment (computer, mouse, phone, etc.) for extended periods of time.
MINIMUM ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Four-year college degree preferred
- 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in-house or at a law firm, to include pretrial and trial experience
- Administrative law experience, specifically with licensing and permitting matters is a plus
- Extreme attention to detail in all tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong research skills
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite, to include Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to draft legal documents and correspondence
- Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical, or spelling errors
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
