As our nationwide growth accelerates, our Accounting team at our Corporate HQ in Mechanicsburg, PA plays a key role in driving forward our mission of Bringing Happiness to Every Home® by creating a culture of continuous improvement with our accounting systems, processes, and guidelines.
As a Senior Accountant at West Shore Home®, you will contribute to this mission by ensuring every entry, reconciliation, and project is completed to the highest standards. You will report to the Controller and work closely with the Accounting and Finance Departments.
What You’ll Contribute
In this role, you can expect to:
- Participate in closing accounting books monthly (5 business day goal) and prepare applicable journal entries timely and accurately
- Perform general ledger account analysis and prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis
- Assist in business process review to identify process improvements and maintain internal controls
- Assist in the automation of reports and build macros and formulas as needed
- Manage and oversee work of staff accountants and other accounting employees as directed by Controller
- Provide new employees with effective training in role requirements
What It Takes to Succeed
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or large regional), preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Salesforce and/or Financial Force – and adaptability to learning and using new software programs!
- Strong leadership skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, high-energy, and highly team-oriented environment
- CPA (obtained or currently sitting)
